Outside the Box

CriticalThinkingOutsideTheBox.com

How many of you have ever been invited to a party or social event? And when you were walking around, introducing yourself or responding to others did you start out by saying " Hi, my name is ____. I have been using the 100% Get Rich Quick Easy Profits Wealth System for about 1 year now... blah blah blah ", you get the picture. " I would never do that " YOU say. " People would consider me a fool " YOU say. YOU'RE RIGHT! And the same applies when you send me comments or emails or "dressed up" click ads that you think may get my attention. IT DOES! I instantly say to myself, " I will NEVER do business with this person ".

I am posing the question to everyone here: What are your thoughts on this?

How does this make YOU feel? and How do you react to these SPAM mails?

If we want to create successful businesses online we need to start ATTRACTING and stop ANNOYING.

Ponder the questions in your mind for a while and get back to me.....

Jeff:

For me, the bottom line is this,,,Folks do business with other Folks they KNOW, LIKE, & TRUST.

My view is do not 'slam' me with your add/opportunity....put yourself out there,,,,Get to know me, show interest in me...then possibly we may 'Talk Turkey".

Worse than being slammed with an opportunity for me was about 15 years ago when a person asked me out after church for.... or a cup of coffee to "Get to know me better" .....after about a 30 second intro. all he talked about was getting me into his great opportunity. Yes in a way I was slammed but what hurt even more was that he deceived me with the idea that he was truly interested in getting to know me better,,,,Well what a Farce ...suffice it to say I walked out.

The brilliant part about this site is that not all people will be thinking in the same train of thought that I am in. I welcome others to challenge what I have stated and possibly ENLIGHTEN me on why they may not be offended by SPAM messages? Every human being is different and thinks in different ways. Thank you Yossi for your comment.

In your last comment you asked for those that disagree with you; however, I am not one of those. I am in total agreement. I have joined quite a few social media marketing sites with the intentions of networking and getting to know others only to be inundated with "opportunity" offers. Not that I don't appreciate the offers but get to know me first before sending your offer(s) to me.

Offer something of value to me first (not your opportunity), get to know me and after building a solid relationship with me who knows the business you have just might be of interest to me or help me in some way.

Patsy, Thank you for your input. I believe that the great content in a blog is the comments that follow, either good or bad.

There are 2 things that pop into my head whenever I am spammed.

1. This is a scam.
2. This person thinks I must be really stupid to buy into his/her scam because only someone stupid would buy into something that they know nothing about coming from someone they don't know.

And you're right, I would NEVER do business with someone who spams people with their opportunity.

This is an excellent topic for discussion. I just wish the people who need to hear it would listen.

I have found that many spammers don't even realize that they're spammers. They don't know what spam is. They're just doing what they see others do and they assume that it will work for them.

EXACTLY!

I have even done it myself when I didn't know any better. People that have morals will realize that sponsoring people out of desperation and trickery will not last long and eventually quit what they are doing, hopefully. When people realize that chasing money is a "GREED" option and that they aren't going to win the "Magic 7 Numbers" they will be better off in life. Spammers are almost always "Chasing Money".

I have had people set up an appointment with me to take a look at my business with full intentions of trying to steal me from my company to theirs. Talk about desperate! The way I see it is if I don't ask you don't need to tell! figure out how to create headlines that are going to get people to ask you about your business. Big Al Tom Schreiter is the KING of creating headlines that make people lean forward. If you don't know how google him or his fortune now training.
I can't stand spam I spend ALL day cleaning up my mail boxess.

Jeff, I agree with you completely! I have invested a great amount of time, and sometimes dollars, going to networking functions and groups. As of late, I wonder quite often why I bother. Seemingly the only thing to come of the time and money spent is to have my email added to lists upon lists of MLMers looking to sign me up in some kind of program to "Get Rich Quick".

Like Larry, I know that most of those people don't know what they do. They are looking for some way to make their dreams happen don't realize that it takes more work than just dropping a bunch of emails to as many people as possible.

I'd be much less irritated by the whole thing if the same people would take "No" for an answer. I am not interested in every "opportunity" that comes my way. Not all things are a fit for all people. That's what networking is all about: Getting to know people and along the way, finding right fits.

Now in Israel we have a new rule that let you charge about 300$ for every spam you get!
Shall it be in east Europe and we will stop spend our time by deleting e-mails.

Wow Yossi, let me see if I am interpreting this correctly;

In Eastern Europe they will not let you send spam mail without paying a fee of $300 first?

It is very interesting how different cultures approach different issues. Thank you for sharing.
